Jharkhand to Launch Health Guarantee Card Soon: Irfan Ansari

Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari has announced the upcoming implementation of a Health Guarantee Card, a move designed to ensure that every citizen in the state has access to high-quality and affordable medical treatment. Speaking as the chief guest at a state-level event organized on World Health Day in Namkum, Ranchi, the Minister emphasized that providing comprehensive health security is a top priority for the current government. He noted that the state's efforts are already yielding results, pointing to Jharkhand's recent achievement of securing the third rank nationally in the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) rankings. In addition to the new health card, the Minister outlined a massive recruitment drive aimed at strengthening the state's medical infrastructure. Plans are underway to hire 1,200 permanent doctors and 7,500 ANM-GNM staff to fill critical gaps in healthcare delivery. Furthermore, the state’s emergency services will receive a boost with the introduction of 247 new ambulances. To improve blood availability, a new policy is being developed, although the Minister acknowledged the practical challenges of providing blood without donors, suggesting that the department may seek a judicial review of the High Court's recent orders on the matter for better ground-level implementation.
