    Two prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members and active participants in the Baba Amreshwar Dham Management Committee have died following a severe road accident on the Khunti-Simdega main road. The incident took place near Pokla village in the early hours of Thursday. The group was returning from the annual Ramrekha Mela in Simdega when their vehicle was involved in the collision. In addition to the fatalities, five individuals sustained injuries and have been transported to RIMS in Ranchi for specialized medical attention. The deceased have been identified as Anuj Kumar Manjhi and Shivdutt Manjhi. The injured, including Prabhash Manjhi, Amit Mahto, Chandru Ram, and Sunil Kumar, were referred to RIMS due to the severity of their injuries. Ranjit Mahto was treated at Khunti Hospital and discharged. Authorities have secured the bodies for autopsy and are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident. The BJP organization and the Baba Amreshwar Dham committee have issued statements expressing profound grief and extending their support to the affected families.
