Jharkhand Police HQ Orders Probe Into Financial Irregularities

by World Opinion

The Jharkhand Police Headquarters has launched a major crackdown on suspicious financial activities within the department across the state. Following a high-level review, a directive was issued on Friday requiring all districts and specialized units to submit a comprehensive audit report within one week. This decision was precipitated by an audit report from the Accountant General, which flagged irregular salary payments and unauthorized withdrawals in the Bokaro police office. The headquarters has taken a serious view of these discrepancies, signaling a broader investigation into the financial conduct of various administrative offices.

Instructions have been formally dispatched to the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad, as well as Superintendents of Police (SPs) in all other districts. Furthermore, commandants of various police units, Range DIGs, and Zonal IGs have been tasked with overseeing the verification of financial records in their respective jurisdictions. The move is aimed at ensuring transparency and identifying any systemic leakages that may have allowed unauthorized funds to be disbursed over recent periods.
