Cybercriminals are now targeting IAS and IPS officers in Jharkhand. The latest case involves a fake Facebook profile impersonating Manjunath Bhajantri, the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi. This profile, which used the officer’s photo, attempted to connect with over 2,000 individuals via friend requests. The district administration has taken swift action, issuing a press release to alert the public about the fraudulent account. The public is advised to be wary of the fake profile and to avoid accepting friend requests. Legal action has been initiated, with an FIR being filed and a cyber crime investigation underway. This is not the first such case; earlier, a fake profile was created in the name of the Jharkhand DGP.
