Ranchi. In the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections, campaigning on 43 seats came to an end on Monday evening. Voting on these seats will be held on November 13, for which the process of sending polling parties started from Monday. In the first phase, 6 seats are reserved for SC and 20 for ST. The number of general seats is 17. Voters on these seats will decide the fate of former CM Champai Soren and six cabinet ministers of the present government of Jharkhand, Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Ramdas Soren, Banna Gupta, Mithilesh Thakur, Deepak Birua and Baidyanath Ram, and a total of 683 candidates.
The veteran candidates of the first phase include former minister Saryu Rai of JDU, former Assembly Speaker and former minister CP Singh of BJP, Neera Yadav, Neelkanth Singh Munda, Ramchandra Chandravanshi, former minister KN Tripathi of Congress, Purnima Das, daughter-in-law of former CM Raghuvar Das, The names of Babulal Soren, son of former CM Champai Soren, Rashmi Prakash, daughter-in-law of cabinet minister Satyanand Bhokta, are included. There are 87 candidates from national parties, 32 from recognized political parties of Jharkhand, 42 from recognized parties of other states and 188 from unrecognized registered parties on the seats in this phase. Apart from this, there are 334 independent candidates. The fate of 73 women candidates is also to be decided in the first phase. There is also a third gender candidate in this phase.
Nagma Rani, a third gender candidate from Hatia, is contesting as an independent candidate. The seats in the first phase include Koderma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh, Simaria, Chatra. Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Ichagarh, Seraikela, Chaibasa, Mazgaon, Jagannathpur, Manoharpur, Chakradharpur, Kharsawan, Tamar, Torpa, Khunti, Ranchi, Hatia, Kanke, Mandar, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira, Lohardaga, Manika, Latehar, Panki, Daltonganj, Vishrampur, Chhatarpur, Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhavnathpur are included.

A total of 15,344 booths have been made on these seats, where a total of 1 crore 37 lakh 10 thousand 717 voters will decide the fate of 683 candidates standing in the election fray. In the first phase, the total voters include 68 lakh 73 thousand 455 males, 68 lakh 36 thousand 959 females and 303 third gender. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has said that as soon as the election campaign is over, all the political people (who are not voters of that area) who had gone there for election work will have to leave. If such people are caught after the campaign period is over, action will be taken against them as per rules.
