The Jamua region has established new paddy procurement centers, with a recent inauguration at Chunglo PACS aiming to facilitate direct sales from farmers to the government at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Block Development Officer Amal Ji urged farmers to avoid selling to middlemen and instead leverage the official procurement system. He outlined the government’s MSP, stating that Grade 1 paddy will be bought at ₹2389 per quintal plus an ₹81 bonus, and common paddy at ₹2369 per quintal with an ₹81 bonus. Direct electronic payments are guaranteed for farmers. Farmers can obtain the required identification through local administrative or Pragyakendra services. These timely opened procurement centers, totaling seven across Jamua including locations like Bhandaro, Pobi, Pratappur, Chitradeeh, and Lataqi, are designed to ensure farmers receive the rightful value for their crops. The Dhurgadgi PACS center’s inauguration was observed to be more understated compared to others.
