    The mahouts reportedly befriended another elephant owner in Palamu. Narendra stated that he last saw the elephant and the two mahouts on August 11 in Palamu. When he returned on August 13, the elephant and the mahouts were gone. Narendra informed the police that he had searched several areas in Jharkhand, but the elephant was nowhere to be found, nor was there any trace of the mahouts.
