In Simdega, a District Road Safety Committee meeting, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Kanchan Singh, deliberated on critical road safety issues. The review of accident data from January to September 2025 revealed 104 accidents, including 7 in August and 6 in September. The number of fatalities stood at 94 for the period, with four deaths recorded in each of the months of August and September. To mitigate accident risks, significant progress was highlighted. The tendering for the Pandripani and Arani bridge constructions on NH 23 is finalized, and construction will proceed post-tender. Work is ongoing to repair road flanks damaged by heavy rains. Furthermore, speed breakers have been installed by the Road Construction Department at numerous locations to improve road safety.
