A remarkable incident from the Ramgarh forest division in Jharkhand showcases the empathy and understanding between humans and wildlife. An elephant gave birth on a railway track, prompting a train to stop for two hours to allow the delivery to proceed without disruption. Central Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav shared a video of the event on X, emphasizing the peaceful coexistence between humans and animals. The footage depicts the mother and calf leaving the track peacefully after the birth. The minister acknowledged the railway officials’ considerate action, highlighting that their behavior not only safeguarded the calf but also served as a commendable example. A freight train was scheduled to pass during the delivery, however, it was delayed to prevent disturbing the elephant. In the video, the train’s locomotive pilot stopped the train well before the elephant. This compassionate act has led to widespread appreciation online, with many praising the pilot’s considerate response and the importance of preserving the well-being of the elephant and her calf.
