Chief Minister Hemant Soren of Jharkhand has given the green light to three major road projects designed to improve traffic conditions in Ranchi and other important cities across the state. The projects aim to modernize and streamline transportation networks. Road Construction Department’s Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar presented the project details to the Chief Minister, who subsequently ordered the prompt preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for rapid implementation. The Chief Minister also instructed the development of traffic improvement plans for other major urban centers.

    The sanctioned projects include:

    * **Argora Chowk-Kathal Mor-Chapu Toli Elevated Flyover:** This flyover will span 1.75 kilometers, featuring a 10-meter width on the flyover and a 7-meter width on the road below. It will include essential components like drainage, utility ducts, road beautification, complete lighting, and noise barriers. The project is designed to ease traffic congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow from Argora to Chapu Toli.
    * **Karamtoli-Morabadi-Science City Flyover & Ring Road Four-Lane Road:** The project features a 2.2-kilometer flyover, connecting Karamtoli Chowk to Science City, along with a four-lane road stretching more than 5 kilometers from Science City to Ring Road. This infrastructure is intended to alleviate traffic jams on the capital’s busy routes and expedite travel times.
    * **Ranchi Railway Station to Airport Alternative Four-Lane Road:** This project involves a 4.7-kilometer-long road, complemented by an 800-meter elevated section. It will include features like footpaths, covered cycle tracks, solar panel-powered road lighting, a greenfield corridor, gazebos, seating benches, and essential amenities. The aim is to offer a speedy alternative route to the airport, providing easier and faster access for individuals from areas such as Hatia, Doranda, Hinoo, and the HEC region to Ranchi Railway Station.

In addition, the Chief Minister considered other proposals, such as a flyover from Harmu Mukti Dham to Radisson Blu and a flyover over the Swarnarekha River from Hinoo Bridge to Jagannathpur. He has also directed that traffic improvement plans be formulated for cities like Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, and others.

    * **Jamshedpur-Sakchi City Flyover:** A 2.54 km-long flyover intended to ease traffic congestion.
    * **Daltonganj-Garhwa Alternative Corridor:** A circular elevated corridor to enhance traffic balance.

NHAI Transition Point Enhancements: Improvements focused on enhancing safety and junction upgrades in areas like Ramgarh, Daltonganj, and Barkakana.

The projects are expected to address traffic issues and simultaneously boost local employment, investments, and industrial growth. The Chief Minister emphasized timely implementation, with continuous reviews, viewing these initiatives as critical steps toward transforming Jharkhand into a modern and developed state.
