Ranchi. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time on Thursday. Governor Santosh Gangwar administered him the oath of office and secrecy at Morhabadi Maidan in Ranchi. Hemant Soren took oath alone. It is being told that the rest of the members of the cabinet will be sworn in after the government gets the trust vote. However, the leaders of almost all parties of the opposition alliance arrived at the oath of Hemant Soren.
Around 20 big leaders of 10 parties of opposition coalition ‘India’ attended the oath ceremony. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav were present at the oath ceremony. Before the oath, Hemant Soren cited opposition unity and said that solidarity is our strength.
The Chief Minister was to be sworn in at four o’clock. Before that at three o’clock in the afternoon, Hemant Soren caught the hand of his father Shibu Soren and reached the venue. Before the oath, Hemant said- Today will be historic. Our unity is our biggest weapon. We can neither be divided, nor pacified. We are Jharkhandi and do not bow down to Jharkhand. After the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Hemant Soren garlanded the statue of Amar Veer Shaheed Sido-Kanhu at the Sido-Kanhu garden and paid tribute. He was accompanied by his wife Kalpana Soren. Also, on the martyrdom of Arjun Mahato, Agnivir Jawan of Chandankiyari of Bokaro, he gave appointment letter to his brother Balram Mahato.
After the swearing in, Chief Minister Hemant Soren held the first cabinet meeting. It was approved to start the session of Jharkhand Assembly from December 9. This special session will run till 12 December. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will get the trust vote during this session. The Protem Speaker will be Stephen Marandi, who will administer the oath to the newly elected members.
Hemant Soren decided to increase the amount of Mayya Samman Yojana 2.5 thousand rupees from December on the first day and asked the officials to ensure it. It was also decided that a special all -party committee will be formed for the facilities of the people of Jharkhand working in the tea gardens of Assam.
