    Hazaribagh district is grappling with an escalating crime rate, evidenced by a significant robbery that occurred in Barkattha on Friday night. Masked criminals reportedly targeted the residence and shop of a local cement dealer, Sunil Kumar Pandey, owner of Suryakund Traders. The incident involved the alleged abduction and assault of Mr. Pandey and his son. Witnesses or reports indicate that the assailants used a firearm to intimidate the victims, tying them up and inflicting injuries before ransacking the property. The loot is reported to include a substantial sum of cash, estimated at around six lakh rupees, along with valuable gold and silver jewelry. Law enforcement responded promptly to the distress call, with the Barhi SDPO and Gorhar police leading the investigation. The injured individuals were provided with immediate medical care. Police are actively pursuing leads, including reviewing local CCTV feeds, to identify and apprehend the armed robbers. This violent act has prompted a strong response from the authorities, who are working to ensure swift justice for the victims and restore a sense of security in the community.
