    An anti-Naxal operation in the Gumla district of Jharkhand resulted in the deaths of three extremists, including sub-zonal commanders Lalu Lohar and Chhotu Uraon, and cadre Sujit Uraon. The encounter occurred in the dense forests of the Bishunpur police station area. The incident began when a joint team of Gumla police and Jharkhand Jaguar launched a search operation. The Naxalites, believed to be from the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), opened fire on the police team, leading to a firefight. The operation was led by the Superintendent of Police, Harish Bin Jama. Following the encounter, the police recovered three weapons, including an AK-47 rifle. Lalu Lohar hailed from Lohardaga district, while Chhotu Uraon was from Latehar. Sujit Uraon also belonged to Lohardaga district. All three had several serious criminal cases registered against them across various districts of Jharkhand.
