Gopal Sharma: Acharyas are Leaders of Society, Not Just Teachers

Ranchi witnessed the grand conclusion of a multi-dimensional training workshop organized by Vidya Bharati Jharkhand. Held at the Shri Krishnachandra Gandhi Educational City in Kudlum, the event brought together nearly 500 educators from various regions of the state. The sessions were designed to empower new and veteran teachers, as well as office staff, with the tools necessary for modern pedagogical challenges while staying rooted in cultural integrity. Gopal Sharma, the keynote speaker and chief guest, delivered an insightful address on the profound responsibilities of an 'Acharya'. He emphasized that a teacher’s role is not limited to classroom instruction but extends to social leadership. According to Sharma, an Acharya must lead by example, ensuring their actions consistently mirror their teachings. He stressed that a teacher's character is the most potent tool in shaping the moral fabric of society and instilling virtues in the younger generation. The workshop highlighted the importance of compassion, selfless service, and patriotism in the educational process. Sharma spoke about the need to protect the traditional Indian family structure against external influences, advocating for values like 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. He also noted that Indian culture uniquely honors nature and maternal power, worshiping deities of wisdom, wealth, and strength. These values, he argued, must be at the core of the educational journey. Secretary of Vidya Bharati, Nakul Kumar Sharma, outlined the workshop's objectives, praising the participants for their discipline and hard work. He noted that the training received at the camp should be utilized for the holistic development of students. The event concluded with the release of three handwritten magazines prepared by the participants, followed by a formal vote of thanks and the national song, Vande Mataram.
