Indian Railways has taken a significant leap forward in its modernization efforts with a successful speed trial of the Vande Bharat Express. The state-of-the-art train, featuring the ‘Kavach’ safety system, was tested at an impressive 160 kilometers per hour on the Gaya to Sarmatanr route. This trial is part of a broader initiative to enhance train speeds across critical corridors, with plans to increase the maximum speed from the current 130 kmph on the Delhi-Howrah route. The successful completion, observed by an international technical delegation, highlights the advanced capabilities of Indian Railways.
