An elected representative has called upon the Chief Minister to escalate diplomatic and governmental pressure to secure the extradition of gangster Mohammad Haider Ali, alias Prince Khan, who is currently sheltered in Dubai. The MLA expressed dismay that despite official channels being activated by the Jharkhand Home Department and subsequent directives from the Union Home Ministry in late 2023, the process to bring the fugitive back to India has dragged on for two years. Prince Khan’s criminal empire, initially focused on Dhanbad, has now expanded its terror to Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Bokaro. Reports from alarmed business owners and doctors reveal they are being subjected to significant extortion demands, with threats of violence and property damage if they fail to comply. The legislator emphasized that this unchecked proliferation of crime is a direct consequence of the delayed extradition. The matter was previously debated in the state assembly, where the government pledged to secure Prince Khan’s return and dismantle his operations. However, the continued absence of the gangster and the persistent threats from his gang highlight a critical lapse in law enforcement and justice, necessitating immediate intervention.
