A recent event in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, demonstrates the devastating consequences of escalated domestic disputes.
A husband and wife were involved in a disagreement that led to the husband slapping his wife. The wife, overtaken by anger, responded with extreme violence, attacking her husband’s private parts with a sharp weapon. The act left the community in a state of shock.
The incident took place in Juriya village, under the Sadar police station area of Lohardaga district. The couple, Bihar Urav and his wife, were engaged in a domestic dispute on Sunday evening. After the husband slapped his wife during the argument, the wife retaliated by using a sharp object to attack his private parts, causing severe injuries.
Local residents immediately assisted in getting the injured man to Lohardaga Sadar Hospital. Due to the severity of the injuries, doctors are preparing to transfer him to Ranchi’s RIMS Hospital for specialized care. The police have not yet received a formal complaint concerning the incident.
This incident is reminiscent of a previous case in Jharkhand’s Pakur district. In the village of Dharnipahar, a woman named Kamli Pahadin killed her husband, Lophda Pahadia, following a domestic dispute. She used bricks to inflict fatal injuries to his private parts, head and other parts of his body. She was arrested for the murder.
