Deoghar’s famous Baba Baidyanath Dham is seeing a massive influx of devotees with the commencement of the Sawan month. The temple doors opened at 4:17 AM on Sunday, and the offering of water began. The entire route is filled with the sounds of Shiva devotees, with Kanwariyas moving forward in an orderly manner to offer water to the deity. Devotees from all over India and abroad are visiting. The district administration reported that the queue of devotees stretched to the B.Ed College on Saturday night, and water offerings began at 4:19 AM. By Saturday night, 190,161 devotees had offered water. Additionally, 48,965 used the external Argha, 129,756 used the internal Argha, and 11,440 used Sheegra Darshanam coupons. Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra stated that many officials and staff on Sawan Mela duty are requesting exemption due to illness. The Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer has been directed to form a medical board. The board will assess the requests, and those previously exempted from duty will need to present a health certificate. Further exemptions will depend on medical board certifications. Those failing to present the required certificates will face necessary actions.
