According to initial reports, the 20-year-old deceased, Sona Murmu, had been living with her husband, Raju Soren, at her grandmother Sona Baski’s house for some time. On Friday, Sona Murmu’s parents were visiting their daughter’s in-laws in the Kathikund police station area of Dumka district. Meanwhile, Sona Murmu’s husband, Raju Soren, was away from home for work.
When Raju returned home late Friday night, he discovered his wife and her grandmother lying dead in the house, their bodies covered in blood. It is suspected that they were killed with a sharp weapon or a heavy object. The couple’s 6-month-old baby was found safe and unharmed on the bed. Raju immediately informed the local residents and the Shikharipara police station about the incident.
