Health Insurance Scheme: The Jharkhand Cabinet has approved the much awaited health insurance scheme for state personnel and pensioners. Under this, he and his dependents will get the facility of cashless treatment of up to five lakh rupees per year in general diseases and up to Rs 10 lakh in serious diseases. A total of 18 proposals have been approved, including implementation of the amended insurance scheme in a cabinet meeting held in the Ministry of Jharkhand on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel gave this information.
Out of one thousand rupees to the state workers who get involved in the coverage of the insurance scheme, 500 rupees will be deducted by Rs 500. Retired workers will be able to connect with this scheme. To join its scope, they will have to deposit six thousand rupees annually. About 1.75 lakh state workers and 2.25 lakh retired workers will be benefited under this scheme. Apart from these, serving or retired officials and personnel of All India Services living in the state, former members of the assembly, officer-employees, or retired personnel working in various boards and institutions can also take coverage of the scheme on the basis of their will.

For the implementation of this scheme, the state government will use an amount of Rs 150 crore from the contingency fund, while the 50 crore rupees will be kept as a buffer stock in the trust of the Arogya Society. The government has tied up with Tata AIG General Insurance Company for the scheme. It is noteworthy that the state government had earlier issued a resolution of health insurance for state workers and pensioners on 31 July 2023, but due to technical errors, it did not start getting benefits.
The cabinet has also approved the draft of MoU with the Indian Airport Authority for communication, navigation and surveillance and air traffic management services at the state’s Dumka Airport. After this, under the Regional Connectivity Scheme ‘Udaan’, this airport will pave the way to start flight services regularly.
According to another important decision, it has been approved to create the posts of Senior Manager, Manager, Finance Manager and IT Executive in the state’s medical college hospitals, Sadar Hospitals, Sub -Divisional Hospitals and Community Health Centers. The cabinet has approved an amount of 94,50,00,000 (eight crore fifty lakh rupees) for computer education in middle schools of the state under the Gyanodaya Yojana.
