An unsettling discovery in Hazaribagh’s Sirsi Ward 33 on Thursday has sent shockwaves through the community, with the body of a young man found deceased. The individual has been identified as Jitu Paswan, son of the late Bhubaneswar Paswan. Upon learning of the situation, locals rushed to the scene and promptly alerted the Katkamdag police. Officers from the station arrived, took control of the area, and began the necessary procedures.
Those familiar with Jitu Paswan shared that his primary occupation was preparing and selling chow mein. This endeavor was his sole source of income, and he often spent extended periods away from his residence, having recently come back. Reports indicate that Jitu often experienced periods of significant mental strain due to his unfavorable family circumstances.
It has been disclosed that Jitu’s wife had been separated from him for a long duration, and he also had ongoing disagreements with other family members. These persistent relational issues are thought to have heavily burdened him psychologically. Additionally, local informants have suggested that Jitu was grappling with addiction, which contributed to his somber mood. The confluence of his addiction and domestic disputes is widely suspected of having severely impacted his mental well-being.
Authorities are treating this incident as a probable suicide at this initial stage, with official confirmation pending the results of the post-mortem. Investigators are diligently collecting all available evidence to support their inquiries.
The Officer-in-Charge of Katkamdag police station, Pramod Kumar Ray, stated that the body has been sent to Sadar Hospital.
