Jamshedpur police have arrested Kiran Kujur, the wife of Julius Praveen Toppo, and Godwin Tirkey, her alleged lover, in relation to Julius’s murder in the Birsanagar area. The incident occurred on February 24, 2023, and raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding Julius’s death. Following the suspicious death, a case was filed by Julius’s mother, Julia Toppo, accusing Kiran Kujur, Godwin Tirkey and others of murder. The mother alleged that Kiran and Godwin had an illicit relationship, which led to constant fights between the husband and wife. They had sought a divorce and agreed on a settlement of Rs 10 lakh. Julius had paid Rs 5 lakh via demand draft and was planning to pay the rest when he was found unconscious. Doctors declared him dead on February 23, 2023.
