Ranchi: The district administration has become alert after the confirmation of bird flu in the capital. A ban has been imposed on the purchase, sale and transportation of poultry/poultry products, eggs within a radius of one kilometer of the infected area. Regarding this, DC Rahul Kumar Sinha has formed RAPID RESPONSE TEAM (RRT) under the action plan. Under which veterinary officers and personnel have been deputed in each team. The deputed officials and personnel have been instructed to work in coordination with the District Animal Husbandry Officer and Assistant Director, Poultry, Regional Poultry Farm, Hotwar Ranchi.
Under the action plan, the work of culling and disposal of the remaining poultry of the regional poultry farm Hotwar through scientific method is to be done by RRT and after this, complete cleaning and disinfection of the infected area is to be done through scientific method.
Under the action plan, survey work related to poultry farming will be done within a radius of 1 kilometer from the epicentre, so that quick decisions can be taken at the administrative level for culling of poultry. Along with this, the team will also make a map of the area within a radius of 10 kilometers from the epicenter and mark it as a surveillance zone and carry out intensive monitoring of avian influenza in this area.
Let us tell you that when there was a suspicion of bird flu in the regional poultry farm Hotwar Ranchi, the sample was sent to ICAR-NIHSAD Bhopal for testing. Where the investigation has confirmed H5N1 Avian Influenza. After which the district administration has become active and immediately formed RAPID RESPONSE TEAM (RRT).
