‘Bhabhi Ji’ the Drug Kingpin: How a Woman Controlled a Cross-State Drug Network

A woman known as ‘Bhabhi Ji’ within the drug trafficking circles, has surrendered to the police in Ranchi. Her real name is Ruby Devi and she hails from Sasaram, Bihar. The police investigation revealed that ‘Bhabhi Ji’ was the primary supplier for several drug peddlers who were recently arrested. The arrested drug peddlers admitted that they procured brown sugar from ‘Bhabhi Ji’ in Sasaram and then sold it across Ranchi. DSP Prakash Soe confirmed that the remand process revealed startling information, exposing the full extent of the drug network that runs between Ranchi and Sasaram. After surrendering in court, ‘Bhabhi Ji’ was immediately taken into custody by the police and revealed the names of other individuals involved in the drug trade from Sasaram to Ranchi. The police are currently investigating the entire drug peddling network. The investigation exposed the involvement of her entire family in these illicit activities. Her brother, Pintu Sahay, was already arrested from Sasaram and her other brother, Prince, is also an active participant in the drug trade. Six cases have been registered against ‘Bhabhi Ji’ at the Sukhdev Nagar police station and the police are gathering details of her criminal history from other police stations. ‘Bhabhi Ji’ provided drugs to the traffickers on demand. The police investigation showed that people from Ranchi would travel to Sasaram regularly to purchase drugs, which were then sold in the city. DSP Prakash Soe said that the drug network was destroying the lives of young people and fueling drug trade. The police have promised to take strict action to dismantle the drug racket. The police’s vigilance is expected to bring success in the fight against drugs in Ranchi.
