Ranchi. Senior Congress leader and Rural Development Minister of Jharkhand Government, Alamgir Alam, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate, ED. This is the second major arrest after former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. ED interrogated Alamgir Alam for about seven hours on Wednesday and then arrested him. It is noteworthy that just a few days ago, ED had raided the house of the minister’s private secretary and the private secretary’s servant. In this action, Rs 35 crore cash was recovered from the house of the servant of the minister’s PA. This action was taken on charges of taking commission in the ministry’s tender.
However, after his arrest, Alamgir Alam will be kept under guard in the ED office on Wednesday night. His medical examination will be done. After this he will be presented in the PMLA court on Thursday at 10 am. During this time, ED will demand remand from the court. Earlier, ED officials had interrogated him for nine hours on Tuesday and also called him for questioning on the second day i.e. Wednesday.
It is being told that Alamgir Alam’s PA Sanjeev Lal has given many information during interrogation. Sanjeev Lal is currently in ED custody. On Tuesday, along with Minister Alamgir Alam, his PA Sanjeev Lal was also interrogated. Sanjeev Lal is being interrogated for the last seven days. It is being told that during interrogation, Sanjeev has admitted that all the money recovered from him and his assistant is from tender commission. It is also being said that Sanjeev has told about all those people who have received the tender commission money.
