The upcoming RIMS-2 hospital in Jharkhand, projected to be Asia’s largest super-specialty facility, will receive ₹1000 crore in financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This was announced in a press release by Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, outlining the financial structure of the project. The remainder of the funding will be sourced from the state’s plan allocation. The design and construction are in their concluding stages, and the groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place soon. The project’s completion will position Jharkhand as a major healthcare and medical tourism hub, benefiting not only the state but also the entire country. Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, under the guidance of the Chief Minister, along with the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, inspected Delhi’s Amrita Hospital to understand its medical, management, and research systems. RIMS-2 will be developed based on the Amrita model. RIMS-2 will be a state-of-the-art integrated super-specialty hospital with 2600 beds. It will offer super-specialty services in cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and others. It will also incorporate a medical college, nursing and paramedical institutions, doctors’ quarters, hostels, a stadium, an advanced research center, and telemedicine units to provide holistic treatment and educational facilities within the same campus.
