For the first time in 76 years of independence, a tribal girl from a village near Jhumra Pahar in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, has passed the matriculation exam. Chand Muni Kumari’s achievement has brought immense joy to the village. She secured a second-class in her examination. The young girl, a student of Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Tenughat, was felicitated by local community members Manoj Kumar Pahariya and Anita Kumari. The recognition brought tears of joy to her eyes. Her father, Arjlal Kisku, works as a migrant laborer, and her mother is a homemaker. Chand Muni wants to pursue further education and become a teacher to improve educational opportunities in her village.
