In a shocking turn of events during Holi celebrations in Giridih, Jharkhand, a young man’s murder ignited furious protests that blocked major roads on Friday. Angry locals and the victim’s family gathered near Huttia Gate in Hutti Market, under Nagar police station limits, demanding swift arrests of the perpetrators.

State Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu rushed to the scene upon hearing of the blockade. He assured the grieving family of justice and ordered authorities to apprehend the culprits without delay. After hours of tense negotiations, the crowd dispersed, ending the standoff.

The tragedy unfolded late Thursday night in Ravidas Mohalla, Hutti Market. What began as a dispute over blaring DJ music amid Holi festivities escalated into a deadly brawl. Ajay Kumar Das, 30, was stabbed to death, while three others suffered severe injuries.

Eyewitnesses recounted how children initially quarreled during the revelry. Ajay Das arrived with friends to calm things down, but local resident Ravi Das and his associates allegedly attacked with knives and razors. The victims were rushed to Giridih Sadar Hospital, where Ajay was declared dead on arrival. Rajesh Das, Pardum Das, and Prem Das remain under critical care.

Sources reveal a prior family feud between main suspect Ravi Das and the victim, adding layers to the motive. Police have launched raids to nab the accused, with the body sent for postmortem. As investigations deepen, the community mourns a festival stained by violence, calling for stricter measures against such flare-ups.
