In a significant breakthrough against Maoist insurgency, Jharkhand Police arrested Adesh Ganju, a top commander of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) with a 50,000 rupee bounty on his head, along with two associates in Latehar district. The operation unfolded in the dense Pakrua jungle near Banwar village under Bariatu police station limits.

Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav received precise intelligence about Ganju’s hideout and his plans for a major criminal act. Acting swiftly, he mobilized a special raid team that cordoned off the area and launched a meticulous search. While Ganju, Ujjwal Kumar, and Subhash Kumar were apprehended, other rebels escaped under the cover of darkness.

Authorities recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and documents linked to extremist activities from the trio. SP Gaurav, addressing a press conference, revealed Ganju’s extensive criminal record spanning 21 cases across Latehar and Chatra districts. These include extortion, firing incidents, arson, and other terror tactics targeting traders and contractors.

Ganju, known by aliases like Prabhakar, Kaushal, Upender, and Vikram, operated in key areas such as Balumath, Tandwa, Simaria, Lawalaung, Keredari, Khilari, and McCluskieganj. Subhash Kumar faces one case in Chatra. Interrogations are ongoing to dismantle the network further.

This arrest disrupts TSPC’s operations in the region, where the group has long terrorized locals through levies and violence. Police vow continued vigilance to eradicate such threats.
