Jharkhand CM Orders Water Stations Amid Rising Heatwave

Ranchi is bracing for another scorching spell as temperatures continue to climb across Jharkhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed all district administrations to set up drinking-water points at government offices, bus stands, markets and other public spaces. Officials have been told to display clear signboards so passers-by know where relief is available. The state government is also ready to deploy water tankers wherever local sources run dry and to repair hand pumps on priority. Soren stressed that no village or neighbourhood should suffer water shortage during this extreme heat and called the effort a collective duty of the administration. The directions come after several days of above-normal temperatures that have left residents struggling to cope. Local bodies have been asked to work round the clock and adopt a humane, responsive approach. The move is expected to provide immediate relief to daily wage earners, students and senior citizens who spend long hours outdoors.
