In a landmark move boosting India’s global education footprint, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 10 prestigious universities across five countries during the QS India Summit 2026 in Goa. This strategic alliance aims to foster deeper academic collaboration, opening doors for students and faculty to engage in groundbreaking research and international exchanges.
The partnerships span Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Egypt, and Thailand, featuring elite institutions like the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Royal Roads University, University of Guelph, and Brock University from Canada; University of Otago from New Zealand; University of Sheffield and University of Stirling from the UK; Delta University for Science and Technology from Egypt; and Shinawatra University from Thailand.
Under these MoUs, JGU will facilitate student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, academic programs, and other collaborative activities tailored to each partner’s priorities. This framework promises to enrich educational experiences with diverse perspectives and cutting-edge opportunities.
With these new ties, JGU’s international network now exceeds 600 partnerships in over 80 countries, positioning it as a frontrunner in global higher education. Students stand to gain immensely from enhanced study abroad programs, skill-building ventures, and worldwide academic networking.
JGU’s Founder Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, emphasized the criticality of global partnerships in today’s interconnected world. ‘These collaborations not only expand the horizons of learning and research but also generate knowledge that serves society at large,’ he stated, underscoring JGU’s commitment to world-class education and innovation.
Prof. Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean of Academic Governance and Student Life, highlighted the need for tangible outcomes in international ties. ‘These MoUs provide a robust structure for research, exchanges, and faculty collaboration, ensuring implementation aligns with the highest academic standards,’ he added.
Meanwhile, Prof. (Dr.) Akhil Bharadwaj, Vice Dean for International Affairs and Global Initiatives, noted that these agreements fortify JGU’s global strategy. ‘They pave the way for new study programs, exchange opportunities, and enduring relationships that deliver real value to our community,’ he affirmed.
