A tragic incident in Delhi’s Janakpuri area has left the community in shock after 25-year-old Kamal Dhayani fell into a deep pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board, losing his life. The mishap, which occurred amid ongoing construction work, has sparked widespread outrage and prompted swift political responses from BJP leaders.
BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat expressed profound sorrow over the loss, noting that safety measures were in place around the site. ‘It’s baffling why locals attempted to cross through the middle of the pit,’ she said, calling the event deeply unfortunate. She urged residents to adhere strictly to safety protocols in such zones to prevent future tragedies.
Local MLA Sandeep Sehrawat revealed that responsible officials have already been removed from their posts. ‘Action was taken immediately upon receiving full details,’ he stated. Emphasizing zero tolerance for negligence under BJP governance, he highlighted the ongoing probe to identify lapses at every level.
The young man’s untimely death is heartbreaking, Sehrawat added, assuring a thorough investigation into accountability. BJP spokesperson Yasir Jilani echoed these sentiments, terming the incident regrettable but commending the government’s alertness. ‘Minister Ashish Sood had warned of stern measures, and within hours, three officials were suspended,’ Jilani noted.
This rapid response underscores the administration’s commitment to public safety. Strict directives have been issued to all agencies to avoid repeats, with promises of rigorous enforcement against any future lapses. As Delhi grapples with urban infrastructure challenges, this case serves as a grim reminder of the human cost of oversight.
