New Delhi witnessed a pivotal meeting on Sunday between Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Shatrujit Kapoor. The courtesy call delved deeply into enhancing security along the state’s international borders, accelerating development in frontier regions, and streamlining disaster management coordination.
CM Dhami commended the ITBP’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Uttarakhand’s sensitive borders. ‘In a border state like ours, ITBP personnel are not just guardians of the nation but also vital partners in local development,’ he emphasized. Their proactive engagement with communities has bridged gaps between security and progress.
Highlighting the state government’s resolve, Dhami outlined ongoing initiatives to integrate remote border districts through improved roads, healthcare, communication networks, and basic infrastructure. ‘Our efforts aim to bring these areas into the mainstream,’ he stated, expressing optimism that closer state-ITBP collaboration would fortify security measures.
DG Kapoor briefed the Chief Minister on advanced security deployments, modern equipment, and troop readiness in border zones. He expressed gratitude for the state’s support and pledged sustained partnership. Discussions also covered ITBP’s crucial role in mountain rescue operations during natural calamities, where their swift response has earned public trust.
