    New Delhi: In a rousing call to action, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya urged India’s youth to draw inspiration from ISRO astronauts and commit to a drug-free future during the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026. The event, aimed at shaping the next generation of leaders for a developed India by 2047, brought together thousands of young minds eager to contribute to national progress.

    Dr. Mandaviya, who oversees health and chemicals ministries, highlighted the pivotal role of youth in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat. ‘Our ISRO astronauts have shown the world what Indian youth can achieve,’ he said, referencing recent successes like the Gaganyaan mission preparations. ‘But to reach greater heights, we must first free ourselves from the shackles of addiction.’

    The dialogue featured interactive sessions where participants discussed challenges like substance abuse, mental health, and skill development. Experts from ISRO shared stories of resilience, emphasizing discipline and focus as keys to overcoming obstacles. One young attendee remarked, ‘Hearing from real astronauts made me believe I too can contribute to space exploration while staying true to a healthy lifestyle.’

    Mandaviya stressed that a drug-free youth is not just a health imperative but a national security one. He announced new initiatives under the Fit India movement, including youth-led anti-drug campaigns and partnerships with space agencies to promote STEM education. ‘Nasha-mukt yuwa is the foundation of Viksit Bharat,’ he declared, calling for collective responsibility.

    As the event concluded, participants pledged to spread the message of sobriety and innovation. With India’s space program soaring and youth empowerment at its core, the dialogue set a promising tone for 2026 and beyond, reminding everyone that inspired, healthy youth are the true rocket fuel for India’s development journey.
