Tensions in the Middle East have erupted into open conflict as Iran launches missile barrages targeting Israel, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. In a dramatic escalation, Israel, backed by the United States, has initiated Operation ‘Roaring Lion’ against Iranian positions, while Tehran retaliates fiercely. Yemen’s Houthi rebels, staunch Iranian allies, are gearing up to resume missile and drone assaults on Israeli targets and key shipping lanes, according to senior Houthi sources speaking anonymously to The Times of Israel.

Explosions rocked multiple Gulf states late Friday, with Al Jazeera reporting blasts in Abu Dhabi, Manama in Bahrain, and even Kuwait. Bahrain confirmed strikes on critical sites, labeling them a blatant violation of its sovereignty. Qatar’s state media decried the attacks as a direct threat to civilian safety. In the UAE capital, air defenses intercepted several Iranian missiles, but debris from one struck a residential area, killing an Asian expatriate and damaging property.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a scathing condemnation, calling the assault a ‘cowardly act’ that endangers stability. ‘This is an open violation of our national sovereignty and international law,’ the statement read. ‘The UAE reserves the right to respond fully to this escalating aggression and is fully prepared to defend its territory.’ Jordan’s military added to the chaos by downing two ballistic missiles over its airspace, though the launch origin remains unclear.

As the dust settles, regional powers brace for further retaliation. Israel’s war room issued stark warnings of ongoing IRGC terrorist strikes across the Gulf. With Houthis poised to join the fray, the specter of a broader war looms large, threatening global energy markets and maritime routes. World leaders urge restraint, but the cycle of violence shows no signs of abating.
