The NDA delegation is investigating the circumstances surrounding the Karur stampede, meeting with witnesses to gather firsthand accounts. Eyewitnesses reported that the stampede happened during a political rally led by TVK leader Vijay. One witness recounted how, after people began losing consciousness, TVK leader Adhav Arjun approached Vijay to alert him to the situation. Vijay then began distributing water bottles from his vehicle. The witness described the local administration as ineffective. The road was 19 feet wide, and the vehicle, which was 12 feet wide, took up more than half the road. Vijay left the scene 10 minutes after the stampede began. Another witness reported that the chaos started a few minutes after Vijay began speaking.
