Influencer Kirti Patel Apprehended in Ahmedabad for Honeytrap and Extortion, Ending 10-Month Pursuit

Kirti Patel, a prominent social media influencer known for her 1.3 million Instagram followers, has been arrested in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The arrest marks the culmination of a ten-month effort by authorities, who were seeking Patel in connection with a honeytrap and extortion case. The case involves allegations of her involvement in entrapping a local builder, subsequently blackmailing him, and demanding a ransom of crores. The initial FIR was filed in Surat on June 2, implicating five individuals, with Patel being the primary target who evaded the arrest. The police investigation revealed that Patel had employed tactics such as changing locations frequently and using multiple SIM cards. Her apprehension in Ahmedabad’s Sarkhej area was a result of diligent tracking by the police. Authorities confirm that Patel is accused of demanding a 2-crore ransom from the builder.
