India has taken a significant step forward in counter-drone technology with the introduction of the Indrajaal Ranger, its inaugural AI-powered mobile anti-drone patrol vehicle. This sophisticated machine, developed by Indrajaal Drone Defence, is engineered to proactively safeguard national assets and borders against unauthorized aerial intrusions.

The Indrajaal Ranger operates on the move, capable of detecting drones within a 10-kilometer radius. Its neutralization capabilities extend up to 4 kilometers, offering a robust defense against a growing spectrum of drone-related security threats. These threats include the illicit transport of narcotics, weapons, and explosives, as well as unauthorized surveillance, which have become a concern in both urban environments and along India’s extensive borders.

During its unveiling at Hyderabad’s T-Hub, the Ranger provided a live demonstration of its capabilities. The company’s CEO stated that the primary objective of this vehicle is to close critical security vulnerabilities, especially along the frontiers. It is specifically designed to intercept smuggling attempts and prevent the ingress of dangerous payloads.

At the core of the Ranger’s effectiveness is the SkyOS AI platform, created by Green Robotics. This intelligent system orchestrates a suite of counter-drone measures, including RF jammers and a unique ‘kill switch’, enabling autonomous threat engagement. The vehicle’s ‘Make in India’ status is a point of pride, backed by ARDTC certification, making it eligible for military and civilian use. Initial deployments are scheduled for upcoming months in high-priority locations.

The Ranger’s rugged foundation is the Toyota Hilux 4×4, providing exceptional off-road performance. Its exterior is fortified with integrated sensors and defense systems. The interior cabin is a specialized command center, featuring advanced touch displays for situational awareness and threat management, along with rapid-access controls for immediate action. The vehicle is powered by a strong 2.8-liter diesel engine, ensuring reliable performance in all operational scenarios.
