LUCKNOW: In a shocking security scare at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, passengers on an IndiGo flight faced heart-stopping moments when a tissue paper bearing the chilling message ‘Bomb in plane’ was discovered just before takeoff.

The incident unfolded late evening as ground staff prepared the aircraft for departure. A routine check revealed the alarming note tucked away in the cabin area. Alerted immediately, airport security swung into action, summoning the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) without wasting a second.

The BDS team, equipped with advanced detection gear, conducted a thorough sweep of the entire IndiGo aircraft. Every nook and cranny was meticulously examined – from overhead bins to under-seat compartments. After an exhaustive two-hour operation, officials declared the plane completely safe, with no explosive devices or threats found.

Eyewitnesses described the tense atmosphere. ‘We were all boarded and ready when announcements started coming. People were panicking, some even crying,’ said Ravi Sharma, a passenger who was deboarded during the checks. Flights across terminals faced cascading delays as protocols kicked in.

Aviation security sources revealed this isn’t an isolated event. Similar hoax threats have spiked recently, prompting heightened vigilance. IndiGo Airlines issued a statement confirming passenger safety as their top priority and commended the swift response of authorities.

The note’s origin remains under investigation. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and airport police have registered a case under anti-terrorism laws. Authorities suspect it could be a prank by mischief-makers, but no chances are being taken.

This episode underscores ongoing challenges in aviation security amid rising hoax calls. Lucknow airport officials have ramped up random checks and passenger screenings to prevent future scares. Travelers are urged to report suspicious activity immediately.

As normal operations resume, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the invisible threats lurking in everyday travel. IndiGo has rescheduled the affected flight, ensuring all passengers reach their destinations safely.
