Starting July 1, 2025, Indian Railways will implement new fare regulations. These revisions mainly target long-distance and AC class passengers. Suburban rail users and those with monthly passes will not see any price changes. Second-class passengers will not experience fare hikes for journeys up to 500 km. For trips exceeding 500 km, there will be a marginal increase of roughly half a paise per kilometer. Non-AC Mail/Express trains will have an increase of 1 paise per kilometer. AC class fares will be increased by 2 paise per kilometer. This is to offset operational expenses without affecting daily commuters. Tickets for travel on or after the mentioned date will be charged accordingly.
