In a swift and decisive operation, the Indian Army thwarted a brazen infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident unfolded early on March 4, when vigilant troops from the White Knight Corps, headquartered at Nagrota, detected suspicious movements based on credible intelligence inputs and round-the-clock surveillance.

Acting with precision, the soldiers launched a coordinated ground action that neutralized the intruders’ plans before they could breach the LoC. The Army’s statement highlighted the troops’ ‘excellent tactical execution’ in responding with overwhelming force, ensuring no violation of the sensitive border line occurred.

This successful foiling underscores the Army’s unwavering dominance in the area. Troops have been reoriented to maintain a firm grip, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A robust operational posture and high alert status now blanket the entire sector, with the message clear: the wall remains vigilant, and every infiltration bid will be crushed.

The Line of Control stretches 740 kilometers across Jammu and Kashmir, passing through key districts like Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora in the Kashmir Valley, and Poonch, Rajouri, and parts of Jammu in the Jammu division. The 240-km International Border in Jammu division’s Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts is guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF).

While the Army secures the LoC, BSF counters cross-border smuggling, drone activities, and infiltrations from Pakistan. Drones have previously been used to drop arms, ammunition, drugs, and cash for terrorists. Security forces, alongside Jammu and Kashmir Police, routinely conduct operations against terrorists, their overground workers, and supporters.

Drug traffickers, peddlers, and hawala operators funding terrorism through illicit proceeds remain prime targets. These networks sustain terror activities in the region, but relentless vigilance by security agencies continues to dismantle them, safeguarding peace along the borders.
