In a world grappling with economic slowdown, India stands out as a beacon of hope. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev hailed the latest Union Budget as a masterstroke that positions the nation stronger than ever. Speaking exclusively to IANS in Ranchi, Shahdev emphasized how major global economies are faltering, with projections for the next fiscal year pointing to sluggish growth everywhere else.
‘India has emerged as the bright spot,’ Shahdev declared, crediting the budget’s comprehensive approach that touches every sector of the economy. He spotlighted the much-needed boost to defense, referencing the daring ‘Operation Sindoor’ where Indian armed forces executed precise strikes inside Pakistan, showcasing unparalleled bravery.
Shahdev stressed the importance of constant vigilance. ‘We’ve given Pakistan a stern response before, but with tense borders shared with multiple adversaries, preparedness is non-negotiable,’ he said. Turning to critics, he slammed Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, urging him to recognize Prime Minister Modi’s visionary blueprint for a developed India.
Contrasting the current fiscal prudence—with a deficit controlled at around 4.3%—against Congress’s history of fiscal irresponsibility, Shahdev painted a picture of responsible governance. He dismissed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s complaints about budget allocations, pointing to special schemes and a high-speed rail corridor earmarked for the state.
‘Mamata’s confidence is shaken after electoral setbacks; she’s crafting a false narrative,’ Shahdev charged. On Pakistan’s refusal to play India in the T20 World Cup, he labeled it as cowardice, invoking historical defeats in 1947-48 and 1965, and vowing to push the ICC for sanctions. This budget, he concluded, fortifies India’s path to prosperity amid global turmoil.
