New Delhi buzzed with reactions after US President Donald Trump claimed credit for averting a potential nuclear crisis between India and Pakistan. In a bold statement, Trump asserted that his intervention prevented a dire escalation that could have threatened even the Pakistani Prime Minister’s life.

BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana dismissed these remarks with confidence. Speaking exclusively, he highlighted India’s ascent under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. ‘India is rapidly emerging as the world’s third-largest power,’ Khatana declared. ‘What others think or say about us doesn’t make much difference. We’re a rising force.’

Khatana praised Modi’s initiatives like Stand-Up India and Start-Up India, which have opened global markets for Indian farmers and entrepreneurs. He emphasized that India’s global stature has soared since Modi took office, with increased respect from nations across the Gulf, Europe, the US, and beyond.

On Modi’s upcoming Israel visit, Khatana underscored India’s balanced foreign policy. ‘India views Israel and Palestine equally and pursues independent diplomacy based on national interests,’ he said. He rebuked concerns raised by UP cleric Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, urging restraint to avoid unnecessary controversies.

In a related development, the dismissal of a Punjab university vice-chancellor over alleged mistreatment of Kashmiri Muslim students during Ramadan drew sharp attention. Khatana called for sensitivity in institutions, appealing to the Punjab government to act decisively. ‘Every citizen is equal regardless of faith or region,’ he affirmed, stressing the need for respect in the social media age.
