    On August 14th, India observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, commemorating the division of the nation 78 years prior. The day serves to remember the pain and upheaval experienced during the partition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the suffering endured by numerous people, emphasizing their courage in facing unimaginable loss. He stated that the day is also for honoring their strength in rebuilding their lives. Many of those affected managed to rebuild their lives and achieve success. This day also serves as a reminder of the importance of strengthening the bonds that hold the nation together. Amit Shah, in his remarks, stated that the Congress party was responsible for dividing India, causing widespread suffering. He expressed his condolences to those affected by the partition. Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister, also paid his respects, recalling the tragic events of 1947 and the resulting loss and suffering. He emphasized the commitment to enhancing social harmony. Independence from British rule was achieved on August 15, 1947. The partition led to one of the largest human migrations ever, affecting approximately 20 million people. Millions of families were displaced, becoming refugees and forced to rebuild their lives.
