    IMD Warns of Extreme Weather: Heavy Rain to Lash Multiple States

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of extreme weather conditions, with heavy rainfall expected across several regions. East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Coastal Karnataka have already experienced heavy downpours, resulting in flooding in parts of West Bengal. The IMD has issued alerts for a continued wet spell across Northeast, Central, West, and Northwest India. Citizens are advised to prepare for potential disruptions and traffic congestion. Specific areas where isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated include Rajasthan (July 13–16), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (July 14–16), Himachal Pradesh (July 13–18), Uttarakhand (July 13–18), Punjab (July 16), Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi (July 14), and West Uttar Pradesh (July 13, 16 & 17). Torrential rainfall is also forecast for East Uttar Pradesh (July 14–17), Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The IMD predicts cloudy skies and light showers with thunderstorms and lightning in Delhi until July 18.
