Heavy rainfall continues to cause disruptions in various regions, impacting transportation and daily routines. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather update, predicting further rainfall over the next few days. Tamil Nadu and Kerala are under a heavy rainfall alert for the next 6 to 7 days, with the potential for extremely heavy rainfall in Kerala and the ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on August 5. The weather forecast also includes a wet period for Delhi-NCR, with cloudy skies and the likelihood of light rain. Local authorities are advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain cautious. The Northeast and adjoining East India are expected to face incessant showers for the next week. Areas likely to be impacted include Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, regions such as Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, and northeast Rajasthan are also under a weather watch. The Met Department emphasizes the importance of preparedness due to increased monsoon activity in the eastern, western, and central regions, urging residents to stay safe and follow safety guidelines.
