New Delhi witnessed a landmark gathering at IIT Delhi where Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan engaged with 10 cutting-edge EdTech startups in an Artificial Intelligence roundtable. The focus was sharp: leveraging AI to revolutionize India’s education system, aligning perfectly with the National Education Policy 2020.
Ministers of State for Education, Sukanta Majumdar and Jayant Chaudhary, joined Pradhan in this pivotal discussion. Startups like Arivihan, Fermi AI, Khare AI, Seekho, SpeakX, SuperKalam, Supernova, Vedantu, ConveGenius, and Vironan showcased their AI-driven solutions tailored for school education, competitive exam prep, skill development, and language learning.
These innovations promise to bridge gaps for students in remote and under-resourced areas, making quality education accessible. Held ahead of the India AI Impact Summit, the meeting underscored AI’s transformative potential in education.
In a parallel development, Pradhan laid the foundation stone for two major infrastructure projects at IIT Delhi, totaling Rs 430 crore. The Academic Block-103, spanning 5 lakh sq ft across 10 floors, will feature 31 classrooms, 150 research labs, 150 faculty offices, conference rooms, cafeteria, and banking facilities. This will be IIT Delhi’s first 10-story academic building.
The second project, Girls Hostel-50, covering 3.9 lakh sq ft, will accommodate 1,400 female students with modern amenities including wardrobes, study tables, charging points, and a dining hall. Both structures prioritize sustainability with solar panels, rainwater harvesting, green spaces, and a no-tree-cutting policy during construction.
IIT Delhi Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee, ministry officials, faculty, and students attended the event. The government is steadfast in modernizing education through AI and robust infrastructure, ensuring a brighter future for India’s youth.
