Project Cheetah is soaring to new heights as Mukhi, a cheetah bred in India, has given birth to five cubs at the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. This extraordinary event is being hailed as a major triumph and a positive indicator of the cheetah’s successful integration into the Indian ecosystem.

Announcing the happy news, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh described it as an unprecedented breakthrough for India’s cheetah conservation mission. He confirmed that the cheetah mother and her litter of five are healthy and progressing well. Mukhi’s successful reproduction at just 33 months of age makes her a pioneering figure, being the first Indian-born cheetah to breed. This success story reinforces the belief that India can successfully establish a robust and viable cheetah population, vital for the country’s biodiversity goals.
