Agartala, February 19: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the vital role of promoting Hindi alongside local languages to foster communication and national unity. Speaking on Thursday, he highlighted how Hindi serves as a bridge across India’s diverse linguistic landscape.
CM Saha pointed out that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has selected Agartala to host the joint regional official language conference for northern, eastern, and northeastern regions. This significant event is set for Friday at the Hapania International Indoor Exhibition Centre, where Shah will inaugurate the proceedings.
Expressing enthusiasm, Saha said he welcomes more national-level programs in Agartala. Representatives from the specified regions have already arrived, and anticipation is building for Shah’s address. ‘Hindi is accessible and widely understood,’ Saha noted, adding that most people in Tripura can use it effortlessly.
‘By prioritizing Hindi, we aim to unite the entire nation while respecting every individual’s mother tongue,’ he stated. Saha also mentioned that many Indian languages trace their roots to Sanskrit, underscoring the cultural interconnectedness.
Grateful for the initiatives by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Saha praised their efforts in promoting linguistic harmony. Shifting focus to technology, he recounted his participation in the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Wednesday.
During the summit, Saha engaged with foreign delegates, central ministers, and chief ministers from various states on key issues. He lauded PM Modi’s keen interest in AI, noting its inclusion in the recent budget and its upcoming integration across all government departments.
‘India will emerge as a global hub for AI in the coming days,’ Saha asserted confidently. ‘Artificial Intelligence is essential for our collective future, powering innovation and progress across sectors.’
This dual emphasis on cultural unity through Hindi and technological advancement via AI positions Tripura and India at the forefront of national development.
