High Minister Modi can pay tributes to Jagjivan Ram

NEW DELHI: High Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to former deputy high minister Jagjivan Ram, a fundamental Dalit chief of his time, and mentioned the country will all the time take into account his “exceptional” contribution throughout the liberty motion and after Independence.

Born in Bihar in 1908, Ram was once a freedom fighter and served as a minister in governments led through Jawaharlal Nehru and later India Gandhi.

He surrender the Congress to protest in opposition to Emergency and served as a deputy high minister within the Janata Celebration executive.
